Extractor – Rotary devoter with conical bottom under silo
Ensure consistent flow of even your most difficult powders, even under heavy storage loads. Our mechanical extraction system with rotating arms breaks up arching at the source and ensures regular feeding from the powder silo outlet, eliminating any risk of blockages or arching.
- Physical breaking of arches by rotating scraper arm
- Optimization of storage conditions
- Low energy consumption
- Simple installation and adaptable to existing silos
Why choose rotary mechanical extraction?
The rotary extractor is used when gravity or vibration flow is not sufficient to ensure product fluidity.
-
Direct mechanical action:
The rotary arm physically breaks up the arches, regardless of the cohesion of the powder. -
Prevention of ratholing:
By sweeping the conical bottom, the system activates the entire column of material and prevents preferential flow. -
No vibrations:
The device does not induce any mechanical stress on the silo structure, thus preserving welds and supports. -
Regular flow:
The motorized circular movement allows for constant feeding of downstream equipment (transfer screw, sluice, pneumatic transfer). -
Product compatibility:
Suitable for light, fibrous or compressible powders (lime, sawdust, carbonate, talc, flour).
A mechanical design dedicated to difficult and arching powders in silos
The Syvrac extractor-de-archer consists of a conical bottom that is clamped directly under the opening of your silo. Inside this cone, a rotating scraper arm provides direct mechanical action at the heart of the material.
Power is provided by an external gear motor designed for high starting torques. Its specific design allows the transmission of load stresses to be separated: the motor is thus protected from the vertical forces exerted by the weight of the stored product.
Rotating at a controlled speed, the arm gently lifts the powder from the entire periphery of the cone. This physical action prevents the formation of bridges and arches, ensuring a steady flow to the outlet, even for the most complex products such as lime, carbonate, sawdust or hygroscopic powders.

Syvrac expertise: Customized sizing and integration
The success of powder extraction from a silo depends not only on the machine, but also on its configuration. At Syvrac, we have mastered solid fluid mechanics to adapt our equipment to your actual constraints.
Engineering at the service of your flow
Our powder process experts analyze the properties of your product (density, particle size, moisture absorption) to define the critical parameters:
-
Technology validation:
We offer a wide range of flow aids to empty silos that form arches. We can guide you towards the right solution. -
Torque calculation:
We size the gear motor to ensure restarting under load, even after a prolonged period of storage. -
Mechanical adaptation:
We design adapter plates to mount our de-archers on your existing silos (stainless steel, composite, or steel) without major modifications to your metalwork. -
Arm optimization:
The geometry of the scraper arm and the materials (steel, 304L/316L stainless steel, abrasion-resistant shielding) are chosen according to the difficulty of your powder.
A solution connected to your entire process
The Syvrac extractor-de-bottler is the first link in a controlled handling chain.
As an expert in powder and bulk transfer, Syvrac designs and provides a complete interface with your downstream equipment.
We integrate our solutions directly into your transport systems:
-
Extraction and dosing screws:
Design and manufacture of Archimedes screws (flexible or rigid) adapted to your flow rate. -
Pneumatic Transfer (PT):
Secure feeding of your transport lines under pressure or by suction. -
Packaging and Weighing:
Direct interface with your rotary valves or precision feeders for total control of silo output.
When you choose Syvrac, you’re not just ordering equipment, you’re getting comprehensive technical support
that can transform a blockage problem into a complete, continuous, and controlled transfer system.
FAQ: Everything you need to know about mechanical extraction and powder de-clogging
Yes. Our extractors are designed to be interchangeable. Thanks to our custom-made adapter flanges, we can replace a vibrating bottom or an extractor from another brand without modifying the heavy metalwork of your silo.
The vibrating bottom uses vibration to fluidize the powder, which can sometimes compact certain products or crack structures. The Syvrac rotary extractor uses direct mechanical action by means of a scraper arm. It is the preferred solution for very light, fibrous products or those that do not respond to vibration.
For abrasive materials (sand, minerals, glass), we offer specific shielding options for the scraper arm and cone walls, as well as reinforced materials to extend the equipment’s service life.
Absolutely. We manufacture versions in 304L or 316L stainless steel with polished finishes and seals certified for food contact (FDA/EC 1935/2004), guaranteeing perfect hygiene and no retention areas.
Absolutely. Lime (quicklime or slaked lime) is a complex product that tends to compact and form arches when stored in bulk. The mechanical action of our scraper arm is particularly effective at removing lime from the cone walls and preventing ratholing. We size the gear motor to ensure a smooth restart, even if the lime has settled after a prolonged shutdown.
This is one of our strengths. Our gear motors are designed with high starting torque to break up the initial compaction of the material, even after a prolonged shutdown under a heavy product load.
Yes. As experts in bulk handling, we also design downstream transfer systems (Archimedes screws, pneumatic transport, sluices) to offer you a turnkey solution from the silo outlet to your unloading point.
